Form 4506-C added a field in the signature box where the taxpayer (and spouse, if applicable) are required to print or type their full name. The extension of time to meet this requirement is set to expire June 30, 2021. In response to industry requests, the IRS granted a grace period through June 30, 2021, during which, the Form 4506-C was not rejected solely for failing to print or type the taxpayer (and spouse) name in the signature box. With the expiration of this grace period, any Form 4506-C received on or after July 1, 2021 will be subject to the full completion requirements to include the taxpayer (and spouse) name to be printed or typed in the signature box. Any requests that fail to meet this requirement will be held to the normal rejection process.
